JSG main purpose is to foster a sense of belonging among Jains and promoting social interaction and support networks. Our intention is clean and we are not competing with any sangh/sect within Jainism in anyway. This is a social group. We do not do any religious activities. All Jains regardless of their sect is welcome to join this group. We will also promote and engage in philanthropic work, supporting various social causes and charitable organisations.
There are several religious groups based on sects and groups that help grow the business community. However, we felt that there was no platform for social activities and youth engagement, therefore this group is created.
You can view the eligibility criteria on our Membership Page
We may allow non-members to attend select events. However, these are typically exceptions rather than the rule. Family members and friends visiting you and living with you can attend an event as a guest.
We are aiming to do atleast 5 events and hope to do more! Every event will be a learning to do better next time and we will need everyone’s support and feedback to make it happen.
Our aim is to bond over activities vs food. However we do understand that food is important and therefore are committed to only serve Jain food at all our events. We define jain food as vegetarian food which does not involve any root vegetables. Except eggs, all dairy is allowed. We will try always cater for as much as fresh food as possible, however frozen food and ready made paneer will be used when required. Food is not going to be our main priority and unfortunately we are not able to facilitate individual food requirements due to allergens, practice or choice. Boiled water will not be available at events, but you are welcome to bring your own. When required for certain purposes, allowance will be made on case by case basis to allow personal food for certain individuals only. The cost of the event does not change if you choose not to have food at the event.
Depending on time of year and event, chauviyar facility will be provided but it is not a compulsion to do chauviyar. Certain evening events may have food organised and served post sunset.
